File formats
What you can bring into a project, and what you can save out of it, organised by the kind of file you're working with rather than as a raw format list.
3D scans
See 3D scans for the full import workflow.
| Format | Handling |
|---|---|
.stl, .obj, .wrl | Used directly |
.xyz, .ply, .off, .las, .nc, .cad | Converted to .stl automatically on import |
Export: .stl.

See 2D scans for the full import workflow.
| Direction | Formats |
|---|---|
| Import | .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .png |
| Export | .jpg (both the original photo and the processed scan) |
Pressure measurements
See pressure measurements for the full import workflow.
| Direction | Formats |

Designs
Design documents import from .cad files. On the project page, use Import file under Other. See finding screens and settings for that button's location.
Orders
Order files use the .l3z format. A design's Save order action packages it as .l3z for a lab or outsource partner; on the receiving end, an order is opened with Import file, also using .l3z.
Clients
Client data imports and exports as .csv or .json through the same Import file action.
Milling output
The milling table's File extension setting controls the machine file format:
| Format |
|---|
.gcode |
.iso |
.nc |
.pim |
.cnc |
.ncp |
