Connect to a Server
This page explains how to connect LutraCAD to a shared server, so multiple workstations can work from the same database. You need the connection details before you start: the Server address, Server port, and Server token are provided by your server administrator or hosting provider.
Optional step
A server connection is only needed if your organisation uses the LutraCAD server solution. Without it, LutraCAD stores all data locally on your own computer and you can skip this page. See Server hosting for what the server solution offers and how to obtain it.
Connecting to the Server
Once your server solution is set up, follow these steps to connect LutraCAD to the server:
- Open your LutraCAD software.
- Navigate to Account > Settings.
- Open the Basic tab, go to the Remote server connection section, and tick Enabled.
- Enter the following information:
- Server address
- Server port
- Server token
- Click "Save" to store your server connection settings.
- Restart the LutraCAD program to apply the changes.
- Upon relaunch, LutraCAD should now be connected to the server.
Troubleshooting
If you experience connection issues, check your network settings and firewall configurations.
