Welcome to the documentation for LutraCAD, an orthopedic design software suite. LutraCAD helps you create, customize, and manufacture orthopedic products. Whether you are working on insoles, shoe lasts, midsoles, test shoes, or braces, LutraCAD provides the features and flexibility you need for your designs.

Getting Started​

To help you get up and running quickly, LutraCAD offers a series of video tutorials. These cover basic operations, advanced features, and best practices. You can find them in How-to, and product-specific guides are linked from each design chapter.

Documentation Structure​

This documentation is organized into the following sections:

  1. Start Here: Install LutraCAD, sign in and select a license, and connect to a server.
  2. Manager: The desktop application: manage patients, projects, production, orders, the library and settings.
  3. Scans & Measurements: Documents, 2D scans, 3D scans and pressure measurements, plus pressure plate analysis and cleaning up or combining 3D scans.
  4. Design: Design insoles, shoe lasts, midsoles, test shoes, braces and helmets in the CAD plugin.
  5. Production: Send your designs to milling machines and 3D printers: supported hardware, printer profiles, milling and printer setup.
  6. Administration: Server hosting, backup and restore, user management, MDR documentation and the Admin Tool.
  7. Help: Task guides, reference pages, and answers to frequently asked questions.
