Hand Braces
A hand splint is created from a Brace (Hand splint) document. Open that document and the brace workflow starts at the Base step.
Production method decides the workflow
The first choice you make sets the whole path. In the Base step, pick a Production method:
- Milling: Brace produces a milled splint. The workflow is Base to Correct to Export.
- 3D Printing: Brace produces a 3D-printed splint. The full workflow is Base to Correct to Design to Printing to Export.
info
Most hand splints are printed, since the trim lines, straps and holes that make the splint wearable live in the Design step, which only appears for the 3D Printing: Brace method. Choose your production method before you start correcting.
Workflow
- Base: load the 3D scan, choose the production method and set the base shape.
- Correct: shape the splint to the patient.
- Design (printed splints only): add the trim lines, straps, holes and reinforcement.
- Printing (printed splints only): set the wall thickness and edges.
- Export: send the splint to production.
