Quick Scan

The fastest way to scan a single foot. The scan saves straight to your chosen folder. There is no upload and no prescription form.

Controls

ControlWhat it does
LocationShows the folder where scans are saved. By default this is a folder called LXScanner in your Documents.
BrowseChoose a different save folder.
OpenOpen the save folder on your computer.
ReferenceOptional label (for example a patient name or number) added to the file name.
Scan leftCapture the left foot.
Scan rightCapture the right foot.

If your scanner is the LXSeries duo, the two buttons become a single Scan button, because the duo captures both feet in one pass.

Make a scan

  1. Optionally type a Reference.
  2. Click Scan left or Scan right.
  3. A full screen countdown from 5 to 1 gives the patient a moment to hold still, then the scanner captures.
  4. The scan and its photo are saved into your Location folder, named with the date, time, your reference and a left or right marker.
  5. A preview window opens so you can check the mesh. Drag to rotate and scroll to zoom. This window is only for viewing.

The scan buttons switch off while a scan is running, so you cannot start a second scan by accident.

tip

Set your save folder once with Browse. The Quick Scan and Project tabs both use this folder.

Which foot did you scan?

Some scanners have a footswitch that starts a scan from the hardware. Because the scanner cannot tell which foot is on the platform, a green screen appears after the scan asking Which foot did you scan with the scanner? Click Left or Right. Your choice saves the scan with the correct left or right marker.
