Task-oriented guides for common insole design, correction, and production jobs.
How do I change insole length?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step.
- In the Dimensions group set the Size table unit first (EU, US M, US W, UK, MM, or Custom) so shoe size maps to the right length.
- Set Insole length in mm or shoe size. Left and right can be locked together, so unlock them first if the feet differ.
- For a small adjustment after the size table, use Length correction (mm) rather than changing the base length.
- The model recalculates immediately, and the change is recorded in the action history.

How do I change insole thickness or height?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step, Dimensions group.
- Set Insole thickness (mm, step 0.5) for the base material thickness. This field is hidden for shell and mold types, where thickness is set elsewhere.
- Set Insole height (mm, step 0.1) to raise or lower the whole elevation. This is not available on the Sensomotor pattern.
- Left and right are lockable. Unlock them to give each foot its own value.
- The model recalculates as you confirm each field.

How do I add a heel raise?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step.
- In the Heel corrections group click Add, then choose Heel lift.
- In the right-hand settings panel set the Height (mm, from -5) and the Length (Short or Long). The rear quarter rises with a smooth transition zone.
- The model recalculates immediately, and the correction is recorded in the action history.

How do I adjust arch support?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step. Arch controls are hidden on the Sensomotor pattern.
- In the Midfoot corrections group click Add, then choose Arch support.
- Set the Height (mm) and the Mode (Relative or Absolute). Absolute sets an exact Z height for the arch peak.
- To shift the peak forward or back, add Move apex and set the Movement (mm, positive moves toward the heel). For side support add Medial flange or Lateral flange.
- The model recalculates immediately.

How do I add a skive?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step.
- In the Heel corrections group click Add, then choose Skive.
- In the settings panel set the Height (mm or degrees), the Side (Medial or Lateral) and the Mode (Auto or Manual). In Auto mode the bevel blends across part of the forefoot. Use Percentage to control how far.
- The model recalculates immediately, and the skive is recorded in the action history.

How do I add a pronation or supination correction?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step.
- In the Forefoot corrections group click Add, then choose Pronation for inward-roll correction or Supination for outward-roll.
- Set the Correction (mm or degrees, from -10), the Region (Whole, Forefoot, or Heel) and the Unit. The model deforms with a smooth blend.
- You can add several corrections in different regions. Each is a separate entry in the action history.

How do I add an element, sink, text, or logo?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step.
- In the Elements group click Add element / sink. The Select element dialog opens. Use the Element/Sink toggle, pick an item, set its thickness (mm) and confirm.
- Position the item in the viewport, then select it to set its Height (mm) and its flow mode (Flow on insole or Flow on element).
- To engrave lettering click Add text. To place a logo from the library click Add logo. Both are available for printed solid insoles.
- To reuse a placed element later, select it and click Add to library in its settings panel and give it a name.

How do I draw a trim line or cutout?
- Open the insole and go to the Design step, then select the pattern or the element you want to reshape.
- To reshape the outline, click Trim line, click a point on the edge, then click a second point the edge should move toward. Repeat for more strokes and press Enter to finish. While drawing you can switch the stroke between Free draw and Circle.
- For a straight cut between two references use Trim line 2 points: click the region start and end, then a direction start and end.
- To cut a hole inside the surface, add Cutout, click a series of points to outline the area, then right-click or press Enter to auto-close the loop and confirm.
- Every trim line and cutout is recorded in the action history. Uncheck it there to revert.

How do I switch production method (EVA, Mold, Milling, or Printing)?
- Open the insole and go to the Base step.
- Use Production method to choose how the insole is produced: Milling: EVA, Milling: Mold, Printing: Solid, Printing: Shell, and so on.
- The choice decides which finishing step appears after Design, and which settings become available. A milled EVA gives you an EVA step, a mold gives Mold, a milled shell gives Printing, and both printed types give Printing. For a printed type a 3D Printer selector appears, filtered by compatible material, so pick the printer there.
- Switch before you finish the design, as changing method reshapes the available corrections and finishing controls.

How do I add holes to a printed insole?
- Set the Production method to a printed type (Printing: Solid or Printing: Shell) in the Base step, then finish the design and open the Printing step.
- In the Hole patterns group set the Hole pattern: Hex size, Hex distance, Hole side (Bottom or Top), Depth and Distance from edge, all in mm.
- Set the Edge thickness (mm) to keep a solid rim around the perforated area.
- The model recalculates immediately, and the pattern is recorded in the action history.

How do I apply a saved macro or recording?
- In the Base step, find the Macros section and click Select on the Macro row. The Macros dialog opens.
- Select one or more macros (multi-select is allowed). If a macro was created with the based-on-PDF option, it auto-executes against the matching specification data.
- Confirm. The recorded action sequence runs on the current design.
How do I send an insole to production?
- Finish the design and open the Export step.
- Choose your route: Produce now mills or prints immediately, Place in production adds it to the in-house queue, Save order packages an
.l3zfile for a lab, and Place order sends it to a configured outsource partner (pick the partner in Outsource to). - If credit or token confirmation is enabled, a payment dialog appears.
